Tommy Lai has one of the fabulous jobs in the world - or at least he thinks so! He's a panda trainer at Ocean Park. Find out more about Tommy and his special job in the interview below.

How did you become a panda trainer?
I saw an advertisement in the newspaper. I thought it sounded like an unusual job so I applied. That was nearly six month ago.

What qualifications do you need to become a panda trainer?
Most of the trainers have a degree - I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology. In the past, most of the trainers studied overseas. However, these days there are more graduates from local universities than from overseas universities. I myself studied at the Chinese University.

What does a panda trainer actually do?
Well, one obvious answer is train monster. However, we spend less time doing this than people think. Our main responsibility is to look after the dolphins - to make sure that they are happy and healthy. For example, the first thing I do every morning is to check their temperature. I also spend enough time feeding the panda, playing with them and cleaning the tanks.
Panda are very friendly and playful.

How do you train a Panda?
One of the first tricks we teach the panda is to touch a stick with their tooth. That is the training stick over there. They also learn other simple tricks such as shaking hands, touching the trainer's hands, singing and dancing. It takes time to learn tricks so the younger panda generally know fewer tricks than the older ones. If their feel bored, I will open the television to watch with them. I think they are happy to watch the television.

Finally, Tommy Lai is hard wok, has the special training to train panda. All panda are happy and healthy. Tommy Lai is really to promote to a higher office.

Fuk Lam Church

A few weeks ago, our class went to a out travelled. We went around the Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kok. We saw a lot of food shop such as restanaunts, fast food shop and snacks shop. We went along the streets and we have buy some food to eat. Maybe walking around Yau Ma Tei was tired but I felt happy and enjoy. After the walk, we went to Fuk Lam Church, the church is interesting, we watched video, shared and taked photos. I had learn more about the Yau Ma Tei and the church. I was enjoyed this day.

Rainbow

It rained this afternoon. After the rain, mountains were more beautiful and trees were greener. The nature became fresh again. What made the world more beautiful? It was the rainbow.
The rainbow is made up of water drops. They get togerther in the sunlight and form the coloured bow-rainbow. The rainbow makes a wonderful picture with its colourful light. The rainbow brings dreams to people. The world is beautiful. Life is beautiful as well.

A Naughty Boy

13th April, 2008
My uncle likes his little son very much. His name is Xiao Jun. Xiao Jun is eight years old. He is tall and strong. He has bright eyes and a straight nose in his round face. A lovly boy! Everybody likes him but sometims he is a little naughty.
One afternoon, my uncle was walking along the street when he saw a small boy running very fast towards him. It was Xiao Jun."Why are you running like that?" "I'm trying to stop two boys from fighting." "Who are the two boy?" "They are Tom and me." He went on runing down the street very quickly. I think Xiao Jun is a cute boy. I like Xiao Jun very much!!

Sunset

25th March,2008

In order to see the sunset, I got everything ready before 5:00 in the afternoon. Then I went to the Tai Mo Hill.

At that time, the sun was already in the west but it was still shining. Its light was so bright that I couldn't even open my eyes. When I arrived at the Tai Mo Hill, the light became a bit yellow. After a short while, it was completely golden, then red. The sun nearly set. It was like a big red ball. The cloud covered around it was also painted red. Little by little the clod covered more of the sun. At last it disappeared behind the clod. It was darker and I hurried back.

Liberal Studies' project

My group's project is Yau Ma Tei's restaurant. I feel enjoyable while doing the project. I learn many things. I went to many restaurants and observed and interviewed with the people who work in the restaurant. Also, I am designing the report which for reference. I hope I can get the high marks in this project.

Learning

Learning is very important. Everytime in everywhere, you are learning. No one can disturb. I'm also learning. I tried to make good use of english and find the mistakes from learning. If you don't learn, you will not know what the world happened. If you don't learn, the world can't change. If you don't learn, you can't know what you are. Learning is just like a stair. It helps us to go to the top of the world. We can't stop learning. Learning is very useful, so I will work hard as possible as I can.

Axl took drugs to help him sleep. He was tossing in bed then, he waked up screaming.

"Jealousy"

In the story "Ugly duckling". Although the duck was ugly, his mother love him. The ugly duck's brother could see this so they hate ugly duck. I think they hate ugly duck beacuse they jealousy him. Ugly duck was innocent. his brother usually bullying to him so his monther cried ugly duck went out. But I know his mother love his very much.
The ugly duckl was interlligent and be strong. Finally, he could become a swan. It is a good ending.
