1934-Carl Sagan Born in Brooklyn, New York
1951-Sagan graduated from Rahway High School in New Jersey .
1955-He attended the University of Chicago, where he received a bachelor's degree.
1956-A master's degree in physics.
1962 to 1968 - he worked at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
1968 - Sagan lectured annually at Harvard University when he moved to Cornell University.
1950s - Sagan was a leader in the U.S. space program since its inception and worked as an adviser to NASA .
1977 - He continued to refine his designs and the most elaborate such message he helped to develop and assemble was the Voyager Golden Record that was sent out with the Voyager space probes.
1996 -He was died in Seattle, Washington, U.S. when he was 62 years old.
